After yesterday’s discoveries, I made sure that the “Sync Contacts” feature in the Facebook app on my iPhone was not turned on—it wasn’t—and I went to the designated page and directed Facebook to remove all of the content it had uploaded (without my permission) from my mobile phone. I was informed that removing this data might “take a few minutes”.
Apparently, quite a few. Here we are, nineteen hours later, and all the data is still there, complete strangers, as well as their personal phone numbers, included. Time to try to call Facebook (I don’t expect much luck with that, unless someone wants to drop an internal number or extension to me), and then maybe the State Attorney General’s office.
